Descripción

A bird’s nest in a deciduous oak tree in an oak & juniper forest near a creek in a city park. About 10 ft off a small trail about 5 ft off the ground in the lowest branches.

Descripción

At the bottom of an unused bird's nest was what I think might be a fungus. It's the yellow-brown ball, which is less than an inch across. I wonder if the darker brown, elongated structures radiating out from it are related.

Descripción

5-foot tall evergreen shrub under oak and juniper canopy in a city park. Unlike other escaped exotics (I’m looking at you, Nandina and Ligustrum), it appears only rarely.

I believe the pale curly stuff on the photo of the twig with a bud on it is dog hair--this is in an off-leash section of the park.

A sparse, 15 foot tall tree in a city park. Growing at the edge of a wide, paved trail through a forested area, mostly cedar elm, juniper and oak.
