This delicate vine with red berries is twining up a tree-like shrub in the shade at the edge of a trail in a public park.

Notice that the seeds are coiled like snail shells, giving the plant its common name. Thanks to @baldeagle for pointing me to this plant after I mentioned that I wanted to see the seeds.

Small, low plant (on the left) with inch long purple-tinged leaves. (not the smaller plant with purple veins on the right).

I'm guessing a lettuce of some kind because of the gestalt of its spiny leaves.

Maybe Nolina or a skinny leafed yucca I don't recognize? The leaves are thinner than the twist-leaf yucca next to it and have curls coming off the leaf margins. In a sunny spot at the edge of a large unpaved trail.

iNat suggested genus Tithonia but I'm not confident with dead Asteraceae. Growing in a high-traffic area where a trail meets the parking lot of a busy city park.
