Seems to be resting on top of a common watersnake?

With Four-toed Salamander in first picture and Blue-Spotted and Four-toed in balance of photos. Total nine salamanders under this relatively small log. Three species present.

Appears to be feeding on a Spotted Salamander

Chickadees and a northern cardinal were following the snake and alerted me to the snakes presence. They paying more attention to the snake than me.

This observation is for the clear/red egg capsules attached to the horse conch egg case, NOT the horse conch case itself.

Blueish frog??

Somehow was on it's back. No clue what is going on here, but it seemed to have been struggling. It was waving around it's arms and legs and moving it's head around.

Found my lifer tiger salamander under a log in a muddy part of a vernal pool! Last photo is of the same tiger, and a blue-spotted salamander we found under a nearby piece of bark side by side.

Huge brownish greenish snake near calling Wood frogs in vernal pool near huron river. 60 degree spring sunny day. Maybe a rat snake? Not really very blue for a blue racer?!?!?
