I've been wanting to find these for YEARS!! Big ups to Molly Bernegger Ferry for finding them back in 2002 and helping me find them all these years later! Shame the big tree has broken off, but there were quite a number of little saplings coming up through the firs, quite probably acting like nursery trees to protect them from snow, deer, and the climate. The lat/long should be pretty close, but to find these little guys, look for the black and yellow drainage marker on the N. side of the road about 1.4 miles up from 89. Park at the pullout just past and walk back to that drainage marker, then go straight up the right side of the creekbed. Going in Oct. definitely helped to find the yellow leaves!
