Heard some rustling in the bushes to my right and a marten came strolling out onto the trail and we shared one of those comic book moments when two characters stop and stare at one another in surprise before it scurried back the way it came. Caught the sound of yipping and growling, then one shot across the trail while a second climbed a tree and took off in arboreal pursuit. Disappointed not to get any better photos but very excited to have had the encounter!

This observation is for the first individual that I observed on the trail.

Found this guy washed up cleaning post-Irma. Appears to not be a fish (no fins, operculum, ray-fins) but actually a tadpole. Comparing photos online, it appears to be a Bufonidae. It's difficult to ID from tadpole. Definitely in the order Anura.
