Did some research because the shape of this fish caught my attention and was excited to see that it looks like a pretty neat fish for Vermont! The pattern and shape stuck out to me for ID, but I'd love any other opinions because fish aren't my specialty. I did need to tweak the pictures a bit to get a decent look through the water

This is very likely Elegant Tern. BTW- I uploaded this as 4K curious to see if Ultra High Resolution makes recognition easier for the AI. Nah! I guess learning does. There is probably not a really high bar for resolution - Other than for the humans who do the ID. I did this picture because I think I have the top view of the wings of this individual as well...A reference of sorts.

The things that suggest short, not Long-billed Dowitcher are the arched supercillium, the slimmer build, and the "tiger stripes" as well as the red markings on the back feathers...I think...Well that and half the people in Santa Cruz have added it to their eBird life lists!

I'm like 95% sure this is a Lesser Yellowlegs? Yellowish legs with a straight bill (no upturn) and no complete eyering leads me away from Greater Yellowlegs or Solitary Sandpiper. I'd love other opinions though; shorebirds are still tricky for me
