Spore deposit scant. No distinct odor. Cap 5 cm across. Stipe 6.6 cm long x 9 mm wide. White rhizomorphs at the base of the stipe. Spores (6) 6.4 - 7.4 (7.8) x (3.7) 4.1 - 5 (5.2) µm, Q = (1.4) 1.42 - 1.6 (1.7), N = 16, Me = 6.9 x 4.6 µm, Qe = 1.5. Growing under Western Hemlock.
Crust-like growth on burned soil and wood; burned ponderosa pine forest (burned previous year).
Spores Irregular-shaped with nodules, 4.3 - 5.3 x 2.9 -3.6 um.
Near Mendenhall glacier in young spruce/hemlock/alder succession forest. Under glacial ice 100 years ago.
