Identificaciones de catawbaclaw

An interesting specimen. It seems that the tops, which pushed through the soil, were browsed off to expose the internal structure. The pink parts visible seem to have downward facing hairs/spikes. Perhaps to trap invertebrates on the inside of the 'chamber'. The yellow, anther like structures are folded or ridged. It seems that it is growing on the root system of a knob thorn tree.
