Found on coastline bordered by salt marshes and mangrove forests. Area recently disturbed by hurricane.

Costapalmate leaf. Stalks of previous fans remain on the trunk of the plant. Hairs dangle between blades of fan. Evidence of previous fruiting/sexual maturity. Dwarf stature, perhaps because of wind?
