Biotic components are the Colorado Pinon and Rocky Mountain Juniper alone with surrounding understory of shrubbery. The dry soil would be considered the abiotic component.
Found in the ditch on the side of the road. Just South of Soapstone Natural Area. Found in loose clay and mineral type soils. Dry with what appears to be very little organic matter. Bright yellow inflorescence that comes in bunches off of a single stalk. Alternating leaf growth. Silvery green foliage.
