Small unknown jellies from Halifax in 1934. MLI no. 2981
There was a significant bloom of these little jellies along the coast.
Each was slightly smaller than an adult thumbnail
Some were caught in the tentacles of lions mane jellies
On swamp milkweed.
I had difficulty with this one, it did not key out to being a Bristle Fly because in my key, to get to Tachinidae, a clean arista is needed. This identification though is courtesy of John Carr via BugGuide.

Shape and size of a thimble, transparent. Thousands of them in water and dead on the shore.
