Is this an albino rainbow lorikeet?
These chicks are about 7 months old.
Possibly roadkill (glancing blow?). No obvious sign of injury.
Seen on the Downfall Creek bikeway where it passes under the rail line running north from Virginia Railway Station. It appeared to be in process of swallowing a small water dragon.
Seen in Downfall Creek, a little way east and downstream from the bikeway bridge at the centre of 7th Brigade Park, Chermside.
Seen in the centre section of 7th Brigade park. It was initially lurking in a clump of trees - I saw it briefly before it took the air, flushed out by a large Bird Indignation Meeting comprising Butcherbirds, Noisy Friarbirds, Magpies, Noisy Miners and a Kookaburra. It then sailed about above the centre of the park for some time; the final picture in this set was taken some minutes after the first four.
Seen in Downfall Creek, centre section of 7th Brigade park, Chermside. So far as I could tell, there was only one in that spot this morning.
Not a great photo, I'm afraid; over-exposed but I think just enough detail for identification. (I got a good enough look at it, to be sure it WAS a pale-headed rosella).
