Quite common, in open forest. Mostly shrubby but some plants are substantial trees.
Leaves simple, alternate, intramarginal vein present, no stipules/scars, undersurface lighter than upper surface, no oil dots visible
Simple leaves arranged all around the stem at one singular point. Little short hairs covering the leaves and stem. Stipule scarring closer to the ground. Stems is woody as it gets closer to the ground as well
Den agrostophyllum (yellow flower) and Den fellowsii growing side by side. A good natural side by side comparison of these 2 species. Den Fellowsii flowers in about a month or so at this location. 1100m elevation. Open forest.
Compound, alternate leaves. Opposite leaflets. Stipules/stipular scars present. ~1 m tall. Terminal leaflet present
