The Doislau is a part of the european nature reserve FFH Niederösterreichische Alpenvorlandflüsse (Lower austrian pre-alps rivers)
One of the most valuid areas are the semi-natural dry grasslands and scrubland facies on calcareous substrates (Festuco-Brometalia) (* important orchid sites).
