Just for fun, I decided to create a list of extant species seen in the Jurassic Park film series. For eagle-eyed (and -eared) naturalists, some of these can be hard to miss! For the record, I'm only including things in the movies--the franchise is far too expansive to possibly include anything else. Feel free to send me a message about any I'm missing, it's admittedly been a while since I've seen any of these films.
-
Distinctive croak heard a couple times in the first film (most notably during the Mr. DNA sequence)
-
Not technically in any of the films to my knowledge, but one crawled in front of the projection during a screening of the first film I watched so I'm mentioning it here.
-
This or another Boa species slithers in front of a "Velociraptor" in the first film.
-
-
An Ostrich egg appears in the first film, being used as an eggshell by the cloned "dinosaurs."
-
Background audio species in the fourth film (on a Costa Rican island...).
-
Caged chickens appear in one scene at the beginning of the first film.
-
Background species, heard in the Dominican Republic of all places
-
Heard in the background of the "Dodgson! We got Dodgson here!" scene in the first film a couple of times
-
Appears flying over the ocean in the conclusion of the first film.
-
Three are standing outside the visitor center in the first film.
-
Heard croaking during the infamous "clever girl" scene in the first film.
-
Appears in a "fake-out" sequence in the introduction of the fourth film.
-
Song briefly heard (I think) in the background during the introduction to the second film.
-
Seen in the end montage of the sixth film (most likely this species, given habitat in which it appears)
-
Many individuals of this species occur as characters throughout the series
-
Fed to a "Velociraptor" named Blue in the fourth film.
-
-
Fed to a Tyrannosaurus rex in the first and fourth films
-
Seen in the fourth film in a "Velociraptor" training scene.
-
Seen in a montage at the end of the sixth film.
-
-
Appears as a background pet in one scene in the original film
-
Heard in the background of the amber mine scene in the first film.
-
-
Possibly in this genus. A school of "bonitos" are briefly seen in the third film just before a Spinosaurus attack.
-
"Chilean sea bass" is eaten by several characters in the first film.
-
Fed to a mosasaur for dramatic effect in the fourth film
-
Though it's likely not possible to ID it to species, or potentially even genus, a haul of Alaskan king crabs is seen briefly in the sixth film, though it and the boat catching it are swiftly attack... Más

I *think* this species occurs in the end montage of the sixth film, though I could be wrong. It is being fed on by a sauropod.
-
Presumably some sort of sagebrush occurs in the background of the Montana sequence in the first film.
-
In the first film, a Triceratops becomes sick from eating the berries of this plant.
-
Tomatoes appear on the "chilean sea bass" plate in the first film.
-
-
A few are seen on the pond in front of the visitor center in the first film.
-
Possibly this species occurs in the background shots in the first film.
