Growing in the shade, gets some afternoon sun. Did not flower this summer. Leaves are about 1.5" x 2". Mostly level with the ground, spreading outward rather than upward.
There is a red dot near where the leaf meets the stem and the veins are red part way up the leaf. The leaf lobes are a bit stunted or rounded, and the veins are well defined starting with them being red coming from the stem joint to about midway up the leaf where the veins are a pale greenish white.
The leaf close-ups were taken a few days later, just as a cold front was rolling in, and the colors have muted.

I spotted this huge aphid-like critter walking around on the side of a rock. I've gotten pretty good at estimating spider body lengths by sight, and I'm estimating that this aphid had a body at least 7mm long, more likely 8mm. That doesn't include wings or antennae. Is this an aphid?

Landscaper found it on her arm, so no idea what it was feeding on.
