I found this caterpillar which had died at South Llano River State Park. Have you ever seen one like this? I wonder what kind it is.

Descripción

These are my four Ironclad beetles. I have kept each of them them in captivity between one and three years. I found my first one at Berry Springs Park and Preserve in Georgetown, TX and found the others around Georgetown. They eat lichen which I get off trees for them, and they drink water from a moist sponge or paper towel.

When I first found them they each played dead when I handled them and kept that up until they got used to me. Now they don't play dead anymore. I am trying to learn how to encourage them to lay eggs. They mate a lot.
