A lot of these mushrooms have been suddenly growing in our backyard. We recently laid new sod (Palmetto St. Augustine). We have been watering once a day since it’s new grass and hot in Austin right now (high 90s mid day). We have a toddler and want to know if these are poisonous.

Not a chicken. Looks like it from afar but very large, with white under neck and fat body with broad but short feather poking up in the rear. Pheasant of some kind?
