I think this is a baby. Its head seem disproportionately large for its body. It was found wandering around outside. There are both roof rats and wood rats in the area, mostly wood rats.

The snake couldn't get the lizard in its mouth because the lizard bit and held on to its own tail. The snake eventually gave up and let the lizard go.

Both great-horned and barn owls are frequently heard in this area. Not sure which this is. A pair of barn owls has been spotted perching on this branch at dusk in the past.

Stills taken from a trail camera 4 second video. Very prominent whiskers, back is slightly swayed. Gait is cat-like. Not a bobcat (has tail and longer torso), not a coyote. I think it's a mountain lion.
