Egg was found under the tree just beside the soccer field. The two adults had been in the field since 6:00am. As this is also a designated off-leash dog park, we added a sign in order to attempt to give the egg a better chance of survival. Knowing full well that racoons don't read!

In the past three years, we would rarely see a single Junco in our yard. Now and again, one would stop by. However, this year, we have several that have been coming regularly throughout the day. They have been the most abundantly seen bird in our tree in the past couple of weeks. Uncertain, if this is due to the fact that our neighbours cut down their cedar hedges. Usually there would have always been many grackles in his hedge, (where they would nest in the spring). But since there are fewer grackles this year without his hedges; perhaps it has had an influence on the junco.
