Chatham Islands, Rekohu (Chatham Island), Kaingaroa Farm Station, Hapupu Lagoons (Google, OSM)Descripción
Common in marginal turf overlying peaty sand exposed by receding water levels at "Hapupu Lagoons". Growing with Callitriche chathamensis, Limosella australis, Potamogeton cheesemanii, Lilaeopsis novae-zelandiae, Myriophyllum triphyllum, Triglochin striata and Isolepis basilaris.
Crassula sinclairii is a very uncommon species on the island but of course it is also very small so easily overlooked. The only populations I know of are scattered along the shoreline of Te Whanga and at "Hapupu Lagoons".

Locally common in sandy peat fringing a shallow ephemeral wetland system known as the "Hapupu Lagoons". Places occupied are often under water for considerable times during the year.
Growing in association with Limosella australis, Callitriche chathamensis, Lilaeopsis noave-zelandiae, Crassula sinclairii, Myriophyllum triphyllum and Potamogeton cheesemanii.
This location is the only one I know of for this species on the islands (though it must be elsewhere). It was lats seen at this site in January 2006. So good to know its still there.

Possibly - a suggestion from a Slime Mold person (Carol Selter) (I had thought it might be a slime mold). Seen once. Noted on bryophyte turf amongst Sporadanthus traversii / Dracophyllum traversii in restiad / heath peat bog. Assumed fruiting bodies pinkish grey, 'worm-like' sausages, moderately firm to touch (structures up to 40 mm diameter but usually less). Associated with abundant Lichenomphalia "Otira Gorge". Specimens collected.

On limestone outcrop with mostly dead Poa chathamica within a dense Muehlenbeckia aff. australis vineland. A few plants, these were much larger during my February 2023 visit to the island and had clearly suffered from the storm events of the last year (late April - October) when much of the forested interior of the island was severely damaged. on this visit plants had put on new growth. This is the second site on the Chatham Islands where I know of this fern.
