Sadly, deceased. Fairly recently, I think. Death seems to have been the result of some kind of injury; I took photos of the injured portion. Perhaps someone can tell us what may have caused the fatal injury. Not a predator interested in eating the poor snake, anyway, as the body was left lying.

The second specimen of this plant that I have found in this area - a swath of mostly-bare degraded 'lawn' south and southeast of the dog exercise yard within Marchant Park, Aspley, southern section. if this area were given a rest from mowing for six months, brush-matted and fenced off I suspect all manner of native grasses and forbs would come back up out of the seed bank.

About half a dozen specimens, growing in a small eroded area on a slope; the erosion has protected them from being mowed, and so far ... they haven't been sprayed (in most Brisbane 'parkscapes' anything that can't be mowed gets sprayed).
