I'm a biologist and certified tracker (CyberTracker Level 3), specializing in the ecology of medium-sized carnivores especially in the southwest US. My Master's and Ph.D. research were on behavioral ecology of bighorn sheep in several populations. I've spent 22 years studying white-nosed coatis and 4 species of skunks in southeastern Arizona. My most recent interests involve acoustic ecology, including how the physical and social environment influences mammal communication patterns, and the impacts of anthropogenic noise on human and wildlife health. I also enjoy recording quiet places, and my recordings are featured on my blog: www.wildmountainechoes.com.

I am author of "Nosey Beast: natural history of the coatis (2021).
