I was born and raised in Victoria, B.C. I'm trying to learn more about my surrounding environment by taking the Restoration of Natural Systems program at the University of Victoria. I have previous Bachelors' degrees in Biology and Physics. I enjoy gardening on my balcony (mostly food plants) and birding at local ponds or lakes.

I've always enjoyed learning about marine invertebrates, but more recently I've been trying to learn the different land plants, especially forbs and shrubs. Right now my favourite plant is Vaccinium parvifolium (red huckleberry) and my favourite animal is Enhydra lutris (sea otter).

I enjoy programming using Python and R, and am interested in finding ways to make knowledge of nature more accessible.
