Studied botany and ecology in college. Couple decades teaching science, with licenses in biology and chemistry. Now a US Postal Service letter carrier. (Don't ask.) Curious about natural history and evolution, biodiversity. Long effort to learn the birds in my yard by song is sloowwly yielding fruit, thanks to iNaturalist folk. A few years of trying (again iNaturalist) to learn pollinators-especially native bees--that visit my yard has been rewarding.
