Majored in Marine Science/Biology at the University of Miami, where I solidified a love for marine inverts and scuba diving. Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology from University of Chicago, studying the population genetic structure and adaptive response to ocean acidification of the Olympia oyster (Ostrea lurida). My natural history interests have expanded over the past few years to terrestrial systems, especially herps and wildflowers. Most of my identifications come from a growing library of field guides and I love learning how to identify new (to me) taxa, so don't hesitate to correct me if you think one of my identifications is wrong!
