I am an environmental sociologist and naturalist, with a particular love of medicinal and culinary wild/ephemeral edibles. As Liberation Chef and Owner of Liberation Supper Club, my passion for “food as medicine” and “cooking with color” brings healthy, wild and organic farm produce to the plate. I work as a private chef and caterer, design original recipes for wild foods, culinary tastings and special events for people who appreciate the artistry in food, retreat groups, farmers and land stewards. During my graduate studies, I researched food and health sovereignty with Chinanteco and Mixteco indigenous communities in Oaxaca, Mexico. I've also studied these themes with farmers and land stewards in Galapagos and Madagascar. I live in Santa Cruz, CA, and primarily use iNaturalist to identify species while running, hiking, finding a new yoga or meditation spot in the outdoors.
