I am a botanist particularly interested in the bryophytes, fungi (including lichens), and vascular plants of the west coast of North America. I have a PhD in Botany and worked on the systematics and evolution of mosses in the PNW in my doctoral studies. Right now I am especially interested in the systematics and ecology of Sphagnum, Polytrichopsida, haplolepideous mosses, and liverworts in northwestern California and southern Oregon.
