V. Rose Mercer currently volunteers in her community as a member of the City of Cedar Hill Parks and Recreation Board, City of Cedar Hill Tree Care Advisory Committee; Programs Committee Co-Chair of North Texas Master Naturalists; Corporate Secretary of EARTHx, and EARTHxFilm; and Ambassador for Cedar Ridge Preserve. She previously served Groundwork Dallas as Secretary, Audubon Dallas Board as Programming Chair, Preserve Manager of Cedar Ridge Preserve, Chairman of the Cedar Ridge Preserve Management Committee, and as Outreach Coordinator for North Texas Master Naturalists, Native Plants and Prairies Day Co-Chair, paralegal volunteer for Legal Services of North Texas free legal clinics; and as a reading tutor for James W. Fannin Elementary School prior to its closing in 2012. Rose enjoys leading boy scouts, or 3rd grader field trips to Cedar Ridge Preserve, on trail runs along Possumhaw Trail. Through her naturalist training, her volunteer opportunities include rooftop gardening at Trinity River Audubon Center, ADA trail-building at Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center, trail-building and water feature installation at Blackland Prairie Raptor Center, and installation of a trail marker system at John Bunker Sands Wetland Center.

Rose earned her Bachelor of Arts in the Political Science department at The University of Texas at Arlington, and enjoys her day job as a corporate paralegal. Rose is currently enrolled in the community lawyering program built by UNT Dallas College of Law. In her spare time she trail runs, mountain bikes, hammock camps, motorcycles and brags endlessly about her chef husband and his culinary achievements. #cafeMomentum #vegan_kilted_chef #chefwifelife #naturenerd
