This is one of the largest contiguous tracts of forest remaining within the city of Baton Rouge. It is scheduled to be developed by the East Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority (EBRRA)--an ironic move, since redevelopment is usually thought to counter urban sprawl and reinvigorate preexisting urban space. This project is meant to catalog what Baton Rouge will lose--a critical piece of our natural heritage, one of the few remaining wild places.
