BREC Conservation needs your help to document the species that call Blackwater Conservation Area home. Birds, fish, plants, fungi, even the tiniest of insects and spiders. If its alive, it counts! And when we're done counting, we'll publish the results so people can see just how many different species are out there.

Calling all citizen scientists!
BREC Conservation needs your help to document the species that call Blackwater Conservation Area home. Birds, fish, plants, fungi, even the tiniest of insects and spiders. If its alive, it counts! And when we're done counting, we'll publish the results so people can see just how many different species are out there.
You can add observations using the iNaturalist app on Android or Apple devices at anytime, but we will be out at Blackwater on April 25, 2015 from 9-11am for the April Woods Walk to help you identify things. Contact mherron [at] brec [dot] org with questions.
Make sure that you give your phone enough time to get an accurate geolocation. Sometimes it takes a few seconds before the point is collected. If not, your observation could end up in the wrong parish or even the wrong state!
