Whispers of Spring!

Another year, another round of Biodiversity Scavenger Hunts!
Find 6 of the species listed in the February 2017 edition of Galiano's Active Page and your name will be entered to win a family-sized pizza and round of drinks at Babes in the Woods (gift certificate of the value of $30). Find all 10 and your name will be entered twice! The deadline is March 5, 2016.

Of course, you need to add photographs of the species you find here. To do that, begin by creating an account on iNaturalist and joining this project. Remember: you can add multiple photos for each observation you make! In addition to a photograph of the species as a whole, try to include a close-up photo of the flower or bud—whatever part of the organism whispers "Springtime" to you. You'll also want to mark your observation on the map and include a date, along with any notes you've made about your observation.

Note that I have added observations of all ten species from previous years on this project, just to give you a picture of what you're after (not to worry, I am not entering the contest!). If you're having a hard time finding any of these species, you can search the Biodiversity Galiano project for other observations of that species, to help you track it down. Otherwise check the Biodiversity Galiano Facebook Page for more hints.
