Montana de Oro State Park, Los Osos, CA. My family, friends and I saw this sick cub that was trapped on shoreline cliffs and unable to get back to safety. California rangers captured it, restored it to health, and released it. I don't recall the date but news reports date this as happening Februrary 2015.

Not sure what this is. It looks like a mouse (body 3" long), but I suppose it could be a baby rat. My cat treed it in a 3-foot tall tangerine, lol. I put the cat inside and let the rodent escape.

According to historical records, this wild herd is descended from Rocky Mountain elk introduced by William Randolph Hearst into the private zoo on his vast ranch in the early 20th century.
