This large pitcher plant is endemic for Palawan and only occurs at higher altitudes in the Cleopatra's Needle Mountain Range. The species is endemic for the Philippines and under threat as forest streams are drying up due to continues logging activities. This specimen was found in a forest stream in dry deciduous forest very close to the beach with possibly some influx of saline water.

First observation and pciture of this species in-situ since its original description. Found along slopes of small creeks in primary forest habitat only. Species is severely under threat as it occurs only in one forest area that is not protected.
