This bird is quite large, possibly bigger than a raven with a pale tan body and darker brown wings. In flight, it’s tail appears to be about half its size or larger. It was seen perching on a fairly large branch and when it flew, it glided down into a neighbor’s yard.
Edit: Thank you everyone for helping to identify this bird as a Cooper’s Hawk! It’s awesome to me that I actually saw one!
