He came to rest on a branch for a couple of hours and was not bothered by my picture taking

This hornet was buzzing the daisies back and forth, not landing on them, I think I saw it grab a bug off a daisy as it flew by.

Engogred western black legged tick. It appears that there is a second tick on the belly of the fat one. Removed from a cat.

Now there are two feeding from the feeder. This is one of them.
The black feathers on the throat and crown light up magenta as it moves.

This grasshopper caught my eye clicking through the air in brief bursts of flight, showing a bright yellow on its wings. I could not photograph it in flight but it allowed me to as it rested.

This poor bird was a casualty of the recent wind storm having apparently struck my parked car and fallen to the ground.

A small flock of about a dozen Kinglets were flitting along the ground ahead of me. They moved fast and suddenly which made getting a shot difficult.
