Came across this little bunch of dandelions right outside the fence of the Crescent Dunes Solar Reserve. Love it when I can get some insects in the photos. This one flower at the prettiest little moth in it but unfortunately the photo was blurred and the moth didn't stay.

Found at the Crescent Dunes near Tonopah NV. I know that there are at least two scarab beetles on the endangered list here but don't know if this is one of them? There seemed to be an abundance of them scurrying around on the dunes.

Gena Remember the day we came across all those beautiful lichens with the rich lavender colors and we took one rock home with this lichen on it. When we removed this lichen from its environment it turned a dull grey color. Anyway I came across another area with these same lichens but left them be in their beautiful lavender glory.

I thought at first sight these were two Golden Eagles, but way to small. Maybe a dark morph ferruginous hawk but I think still to small. Then I saw the red tail.....Is there a dark morph Red Tail Hawk? To bad I can't post a video because I took two great ones of these two individuals.

There are two of these in my Vegetable garden and they both have the most beautiful blue tails. I have some Western Whiptails around here so I am thinking these are young western whiptail lizards as they are small but never have seen any with blue tails like this. This individual is probably about 8" Long, give or take. This one also has a big black splotch in front of his back legs.

I found these larval galleries on a dead Western Juniper tree branch. Are they made by a Bark Beetle? I use these branches to make natural Towel bars and am concerned as to whether or not I should be upcycling wood that could still have little critters inside and may bring harm to other trees in other locations. I do love their intricate engravings and it makes for a lovely and interesting piece when finished.
