I'm an avid DFW naturalist and botanist for the past 4 decades and a Texas Master Naturalist, class of 1998. In October of 2000, a species I found in Mineral Wells, TX, was described as new to science, and was named Quayle's Ragwort (Senecio quaylei). It only occurs in Parker County, Texas. I am active with the Fort Worth chapter of the Native Prairies Association of Texas (NPAT), where I lead plant walks and prairie tours across much of North Texas.
