70+ years of keeping my eyes open -- amateur: astrophotographer, wild life photographer, fisherman, mushroom gatherer. Professional teacher of German language and literature, then MVS storage management specialist. Not an expert naturalist, but I read manuals and field guides, and do my best. I have trouble with raptors but am eager to learn. I have lived for thirty years in the same area of the Colorado foothills southwest of Boulder, and am surrounded by the most interesting plants and critters.
