Bats’ nightly ‘fly out’ is spectacle to behold in Sacramento.
An elevated stretch of Interstate 80 between Davis and Sacramento, it was built to allow floods from the Sacramento River to surge unimpeded into nearby wetlands. Drivers may recall the causeway — if they recall it at all — as the raised, straight expanse of freeway separating Redrum Burger from the West Sacramento Ikea.
