Last day to upload and ID observations

We're in the final stretch! We had a blast, and we hope you did too. Make sure to upload and ID all your observations tonight. We technically have until 9 am tomorrow, but why wait until the last minute?

Philly currently has 18k+ observations, nearly 2k species (based on the number in the CNC umbrella project), and 949 observers. We know it's not a competition again this year, but we still have that competitive spirit. We're currently 13th place in both observations and species among cities using iNaturalist, and 11th in observers. Can we break into the top 10 in any of these categories at the last minute?

Thanks for organizing @navin_sasikumar and the rest of the team!

If I had known Garlic Mustard would be our most observed species, I would have made it a point to take more photos of Mayapple ;)

A thought for next year. Maybe participants would be willing to share any brief, portable advice they may have for seeing more species: call them pro-tips, if you like?

For example: if you see the most common ladybug in our area (Harmonia axyridis), it's almost always got a case of the fungus "green beetle hanger": instant twofer! Or: if you see an evergreen, especially a juniper tree, always look carefully for bagworm moth cocoons. If not for more experienced people sharing, I would never have observed either of these things.

I am perennially plant blind--wish I had a few more "if you see an oak tree, look here and you will see..." kind of tips.

We love organizing it and seeing Philly excited about our biodiversity. Thanks so much for joining us this year, @tkr421.

That's a great idea @ginsengandsoon. We'll keep that in mind for next year. I started looking for leafmines and galls this year and managed to get a handful of species that way. I might actually start a spreadsheet right away while it's fresh in my mind.

Here you go: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TsX0dtnj7udNbdUHkOdTD8CO7r_rYNVODTA9x1iCUDY/edit?usp=sharing. Feel free to add stuff that you are familiar with (like the beetle).
