Profile of Art Shapiro

This is slightly off-topic in that it has nothing to do with butterflies in Ontario, but Art Shapiro is a legend for his work in California where he has surveyed the same 10 sites for 47 years. Yes, almost 5 decades. Unfortunately, his data confirms the other reports of declining insect populations in various parts of the world. But this LA Times article is a good general profile:
