A pale crust possessing a wrinkled surface with clear circular, concentric ridges showing. The interior of the crust is tawny or pale beige and the outer margins are white. The crust is made up of conjoined, circular islands and some isolated islands. While mostly effused, the crust also shows some reflexed caps, which are pale beige and hairy. Growing on a hardwood stick. White spore print.

Collected along the Blackbird Knob trail. Growing on a Picea rubens stick near Betula alleghaniensis, Fagus grandifolia, Acer spp., and Picea rubens. Co-occurring with Phanerochaete sp. DG2308124. Not fluorescing under 365 nm UV light.

On dead, corticated, and still attached to a living White Oak (Quercus Alba) branch. After rehydration white fuzz became well visible on the underside.
Basidia and hyphae with clamps. Spores with 3 septa, some developing more, measure in KOH
(14.4) 17.6 - 20.5 (23.5) × (5.2) 6.7 - 7.8 (9.2) µm
Q = (2.3) 2.4 - 2.8 (2.9) ; N = 26
Me = 18.8 × 7.2 µm ; Qe = 2.6
Later measurements show even longer spores with many septa and plenty of microconidia.

The id is for what happened the to Plant Bug, not the bug itself.

Several densely packed elongated pea-shaped flowers. Stems are ridged and turn red in strong sunlight.
Fruit pods are beaked and curved at the tip (remains of the style).
Leaves are elliptical, round at the base, and blunt at the tip.
