Identified based on tail length (92 mm), dark skin surrounding eye, bicolored tail hairs, blunt tail tip, narrowed tail base, orangey pelage, docile behavior.

Thrush was struggling to move on frozen road by entrance to Moraine Lake; too cold to fly away although several cars passed over it w/o injury. I retrieved and warmed it briefly in hands, put it in dark box lined w/tissue, quietly drove to Lake Louise visitor center where Park biologist was summoned. Park policy being do or die, she put it out in vicinity and reported it flew off well.
