A new-for-me species of Hypotelus (family Staphylinidae) collected as by-catch from my Chusquea scandens bamboo sheath rearing bag (intended to yield Telephanus pupae, fam. Silvanidae). The sub-sheath microhabitat of this bamboo species contains a wealth of arthropods, most new to science. Cosanga, Napo, Ecuador, ~2100 meters elevation.
