Seen during a Bioblitz organized by Dennis Olle (President of the Miami Blue Chapter of NABA- North American Butterfly Association).
The focus was a pineland recently purchased by EEL (the Environmentally Endangered Lands program) and we were specifically there to document insects. It was pretty windy, around 12 knots out of the northwest, which may have impacted the amount of insects around. Sunny with temps around 80-81.

Visited by a Titan sphinx moth! Will upload pictures of the moth later.
This area was burned on January 7th, 2021 (a little over 6 weeks prior to this observation) as part of a prescribed fire program to keep pine rockland preserves healthy. We have had a couple rainy days in the past two weeks so I came by to appreciate the phoenix-esque magic of the pine rocklands habitat. Photo twelve days after the burn here: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/68352405
I went a little crazy in the hour and a half I spent and photographed many plants in different stages of coming up. My favorite was Sporobolus junceus in full bloom: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/70021405

Seen during a field trip organized by the Dade Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, led by Lydia Cuni at Nixon Smiley Pineland Preserve. This pineland burned about 3 months prior so there were lots of fire-dependent plant species around to appreciate!
All iNat observations from the field trip today:

I recently created a project to collect observations taken during the Dade Chapter field trips.
