A new growth. This time one of the galls had the basidia. Micro is coming. Inside an abandoned convent.
What an incredible fungus this one is. I have observed it for several months now. On 5/20 I found two new fertile galls. As I have seen its development on other specimens, the basidia first form a scattered layer of them on the gall but eventually, it becomes completely white, covered with a dense layer of packed basidia. I examined it soon to make sure it wasn't a fungal infection. This sample is going to a mycologist in Hamburg which will try to culture it. This one was found inside a roofless room in an abandoned convent. It only grows on Laurus nobilis. I forgot to say that spores initially develop one septa but eventually they develop more. At each septa, the cells stretch making it look like an accordion. The spores also develop abundant conidia which look like mini versions of the original spores. Although basidia are 4-spored, one basidium was seen 6-spored.

Three units on a hardwood stick found on the ground. The cap of the specimen examined was 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm. The pseudo stipe was 4mm long and heavily covered with fibers. Cap's margin is inrolled. Shady woods. New feature observed near the attachment area of gills to pseudo stipe: golden brown hyphal ends (or setae?) with a basal clamp. The outer surface of the setae is capable of cracking, revealing a second inner layer. This area is observable on the photos of the gill side. Clamps are present in all structures. Transversal cut of cap shows a spongy flesh.

Crust of gauzy aspect, growing on a rotten crumbly hardwood log; inside a wine cellar (dark and wet) in an abandoned convent. Crust is very thin and has cordons. At maturity it acquires a creamy tone. It peels off the wood as a veil or a very fine piece of textile. It is sharing the same log with Jackrogersella multiformis. Clamps are present on thin hyphae and lots of pointy/acicular crystals. Basidia very stout. Spores super tiny. The presence of the acicular crystals and small size of spores differentiates this species from T. farinacea and T. stellulata. My spores are smaller because it was hard to measure them so the ornamentation was not considered.

On Laurus nobilis. In the roofless room of an abandoned convent. The fruiting was around two meters above the ground. I collected a piece of it and it feels corky. When it is decaying, it turns almost black, falls off and piles on the ground. Photos #5 & 6 are from April 11 (26 days later). Photo # 7 was taken on 4/22 and finally it was producing basidia and spores. The galls acquires a kind of old rose tone then basidia are produced giving it a pruinose aspect. Photos 12 & 13 were taken on 5/22. Basidia are now covering the galls with a dense layer.
