Eagle tracks in grant park. Bald eagles were flying over head later in the day at this same locations at grant lake. Track was initially ID’d by senior trackers Dave moskowitz (author of mammal tracks of the PNW & co author of Peterson’s field guide to bird nests) and Matt Nelson.
Walking strides up to 13"! Nearly matching those of an adjacent Human. Owl was apparently searching for a place to take a sand bath, tried one place, moved on, liked another better and went for it. Later a Raven visited the spot and seems to have investigated it thoroughly. See image 6 for side-by-side trails.

Short trail (25-30 feet) of a great horned owl. Photos show the landing site, footprints along the trail, and the end of the trail. (The end-of-trail photo was taken about an hour and twenty minutes later than the others.)
