The Bennelong Pond is a great place for our Young Naturalists to observe dragonflies. Photos 4, 5 & 6 were taken by participants using our Canon compact cameras and the photo quality is better than my Samsung mobile phone camera (photos 1, 2 & 3). Both specimens remained still whilst photos were taken, agreeing with Brisbane Insects' observation that they are very good subjects for Nature photography! https://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_dragons/BogSkimmer.htm

I was amazed to find this wasp in the final throes of life on the footpath at Sublime Point lookout. Another wasp of the same type was buzzing around it as this specimen was dying. I was wondering if it was a mate buzzing around? They were both so brightly coloured, with neon yellow legs, eyes and mouthparts and blue stripes on the abdomen; such striking colouration.

These beautiful golden brown beetles were floating on Tallowa Dam. Whilst kayaking we rescued more than a dozen from the water, allowing them to dry out on our kayaks. They all flew away except this one. We released this specimen onto the Acacia in the carpark where it met the mottled stink bug!
