On the edge of a dirt road in boreal forest of alder, white spruce and paper birch
First night I heard them call was yesterday, but today they were feverishly calling and we found 15 or so egg masses.
Found in a small marsh, with two mounds in it (pictures included). Just beyond this march is the Palmer Hay Flats, within walking distance I could see several more mounds.
Incredible noise makers for their size. I walked next to a marsh and it sounded like several (I had no clue what it was at the time that was makig the noise I recorded), I took several passes and sitting for a good ten minutes before actually spotting a frog.
Beaver cut trees- apparently lots of beavers are spotted here but I’ve never seen. Lots of smaller trees in area show teeth cut too.
